We looks beyond borders to explore World History — from ancient civilizations and empires to revolutions, wars, societies, discoveries, and the extraordinary people who changed the course of history. Alongside these stories is Art History, where paintings, sculptures, architecture, photography, decorative arts, and other forms of creative expression become windows into the societies that produced them. Because to understand a work of art, we often need to understand its time and to understand history, we sometimes need to look at what people created.

Why was a particular painting created? What did it mean to the people who first saw it? How did religion, politics, war, wealth, philosophy, or social change influence an artist? Why did certain artistic movements emerge when they did? And how did a single artwork, artist, invention, event, or idea leave its mark on the world? Our mission is simple: To make art and history fascinating, accessible, and meaningful to everyone. Why Arhisto?
The name Arhisto is inspired by Arts & History but also by Aristotle art theory, whose ideas about art and knowledge continue to influence how we understand creativity and culture. In his Poetics, Aristotle described art as mimesis—the imitation or representation of life. Unlike his teacher Plato, who viewed art as a copy removed from truth, Aristotle saw artistic creation as a natural and meaningful human activity: a way of learning, discovering universal truths, and understanding the world around us. This spirit of connecting art, knowledge, and history is at the heart of this website.
